  1. I love how this first lesson puts the responsibility on the individual our own learning. This is something I have stressed in seminary this year. Acquiring Spiritual Knowledge (ASK) is up to us individually and we have to ACT. We can not sit passively by and expect it to happen to us.
Faith is a key component following the Savior. As we study the New Testament and the life of the Savior we encounter people who had incredible faith. The woman with the issue of blood who touched the Savior's robe to be healed. She had tremendous faith. The man with palsey who knew the Savior could heal him, but the masses prevented him from getting o the Savior. He had great friends who cut a hole in the roof and lowered him down on his couch to the Savior. The Savior 1st forgave him of all his sins and then healed him. even though we may have faith, sometimes we need others to help us.
